The James Ogoo Nursery School

Building futures through education in The Gambia

The James Ogoo Nursery School was our first big project. As mentioned on the opening page it was in a poor state when we first visited. The building was not good and because it had mud walls and softwood timber it deteriorated each rainy season until in 2011 we rebuilt it before it collapsed completely. It now has blocks for walls and hardwood timbers and the building is sound. We also made sure every child had a mosquito net. Malaria is very serious among young children and many die from it. If we build the second school the charity will have to sponsor both schools. Pictures illustrate what I mean about James Ogoo and show the children receiving mosquito nets.
